As clinicians, our work deeply impacts the lives of our clients, and it's crucial to ensure that we are offering the most compassionate, inclusive, and effective care possible. Seeking supervision is a powerful step towards this goal. It’s natural to feel hesitant—perhaps you worry about exposing gaps in your knowledge or confronting uncomfortable truths. But remember, seeking guidance is not a sign of weakness; it’s a commitment to growth and excellence in your practice.

Navigate Body Talk with Confidence and Compassion

Supervision provides a safe space to explore and challenge your biases, refine your skills, and deepen your understanding of weight inclusivity. It’s also a wonderful way to get feedback or collaborate on some of your most challenging clients. By embracing this opportunity, you’re not just upgrading your approach—you’re enhancing the well-being of your clients and aligning your work with principles of equity and justice. Your willingness to seek support is a testament to your dedication to truly making a difference.

Hi, I'm Heather...

I'm a weight inclusive registered dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Certified Body Trust Specialist. I have been practicing as a HAES provider for close to 20 years.

Since first learning about IE and HAES, there have been many moments where I have felt the more I learn, the less I know!

Practicing weight inclusive care, can often seem like a salmon swimming up a diet culture stream! In addition to coursework, supervision has been extremely helpful towards practicing with confidence!

From business advice, to talking through a challenging client case - my supervisor always amazes me! Sometimes it’s a listening ear and sometimes it’s hugs and high fives- most importantly, it’s someone who can share their wisdom!

If you are a provider (especially a dietitian), working with clients who have disordered eating or are struggling with chronic dieting, body image concerns or trauma, it is vital to get support so that you do not unintentionally cause harm. Please reach out if you are ready to navigate weight inclusive care with confidence!
